Track the clicks behind your short links.

LinkMngr records click activity when a short link is opened. Review click totals, then use detailed analytics on paid plans to see the countries, referrers, browsers, and devices recorded with those visits.

What link analytics tells you

LinkMngr click metrics and how to interpret them
MetricWhat it measuresWhat to keep in mind
Clicks over timeRecorded activity for the links you share.A click is not a confirmed signup, purchase, or unique person.
ReferrersThe source information sent with a request.Apps and browsers can omit this information. Some traffic has an unknown source.
CountriesLocation inferred from the request's IP address.VPNs, proxies, and mobile networks can affect the reported country.
Devices and browsersClient details inferred from request information. These describe the request, not the visitor's identity.

Compare the links you actually share.

  1. Give each placement a separate link

Use one short link for the newsletter and another for a social post, even when both lead to the same page. This keeps their click counts separate.

  2. Tag the destination

Add consistent UTM parameters to the destination URL so your website analytics can group the resulting sessions by campaign.

  3. Check the full journey

Test the public short link and its final destination. Compare LinkMngr clicks with landing sessions and the conversion events you have configured on your website.

Understand a click before treating it as a result.

Email security scanners and link previews can request a URL before a person opens it. Repeated visits can also increase the count. Read the link preview bot guide when the numbers look higher than expected.

Link clicks and website sessions are different measurements. A visitor may leave before analytics loads, decline tracking, or open the same link more than once. Use the link tracking guide to compare them without assuming they should match.

You can also retrieve analytics through the LinkMngr API or a compatible client connected to the MCP server.

Click tracking questions

Can I see who clicked my link?

Click analytics does not identify a visitor by name or email. It reports request information such as time, device, country, and available referrer. See what link tracking can tell you about visitors.

Why is the referrer missing?

A typed URL, private message, browser policy, or app can leave the request without a useful referrer. Separate links and explicit campaign parameters help classify placements you control. Read about direct and unknown traffic.

Does LinkMngr track purchases on my website?

A short-link click does not confirm a purchase. Configure purchase or signup events in your website analytics, and use campaign parameters to connect those results to the links you distribute.
